The workers today need to cut back on… Let’s see… they’re already eating gruel and working 3 jobs… free time!

They need to cut down on free time and spend it stuck in traffic.

So sad that Space-X, which has done such incredible things to advance spaceflight, is run by this idiot. It’s a testament to the intelligence and hard work of the engineers and scientists working there, despite him, I suppose.

He’s not even there, ever since he bought Twitter he’s been camping there coming up with new ways to bankrupt the platform.

I’d guess he never actually did anything in Space X except for publicity stunts.

I can’t imagine how happy the people at SpaceX were when he got into the whole Twitter mud pile. There’s nothing worse for a company than a stupid CEO who way overestimates his own capability and constantly micromanages shit that a CEO shouldn’t even care about.

I vaguely remember reading an article where the gist of if was “musk is busy with other businesses, SpaceX engineers can work unhindered by stupid questions and requirements” and their source was someone who works for SpaceX.

          I can imagine!

I had this lousy useless roomie that just brought down the atmosphere and didn’t really contribute anything positive to the household. When he announced that he was leaving we were initially angry that he didn’t give us more notice, and when he ended up leaving even earlier than anticipated, we legit started jumping for joy the moment he stepped out.

I gather the people at SpaceX felt something like that.

The best CEOs are the ones you hear the least from, it means they are doing their job instead of micromanaging everyone under them.

A big part of a start up CEO’s job is just raising money and talking to media. SpaceX still (usually) loses money to grow like a start up even if it’s obviously a massive operation. I would think that’s his primary role there.

Basically, all evidence points to him knowing rich people, not rocket science. (Or truck science or social media or monkey torture.)

Couldn’t possibly be instances like this, could it?

    https://lemmy.world/post/7058416

Or the price premium for FSD that doesn’t actually work?

Or the reports of poor build quality?

Or the difficulty in getting service?

    The lack of customer service?

Or maybe people don’t want to support a company run by an unstable dickhead?

I honestly would love to buy an electric car, but Musk himself is probably the number one reason I’ll never touch a Tesla. All the other stuff just reinforces why I shouldn’t buy one, but just not wanting to give any money to that dickhead is my primary reason for not going with one. Maybe all the other car company execs are dipshits too, but they at least have the sense to not talk so much.

For me, it was when reports were coming out that Tesla actually made repairs harder and didn’t allow shops to repair their vehicles without voiding the warranty.

It’s like if Apple sold a car. Proprietary shit can just get the fuck out.

Same, I’ve wanted a Tesla fpr over a decade. I’ve had my Volt for almost 9 years now and am starting to think about buying a new fully electric car, but Tesla is now firmly off my list and it’s entirely down to Musk’s shitty behavior.

Oh, I thought it was the CEO’s online reputation and the fact the people are hearing more and more that their after sales service is shit, eg being charged £17000 for a new motor which is apparently the driver’s fault for driving it in the rain. In Scotland.

    https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/motors/couple-charged-17000-tesla-broke-27925815

Apparently the problem has been known for some time:

I wanted a Tesla when I thought Musk was pretty cool with everything he was doing with SpaceX.

Then the pandemic hit and I learned exactly who he was. There’s no way I’d ever support Musk now, let alone voluntarily give him my money.

Dude looks like he sniffs his own farts, and he likes the smell.

I think it’s because he’s trashing it’s brand by acting like a little nazi.

I only know two people with Tesla’s but both of them are embarrassed to be driving around in one and aren’t planning to buy another one. Obviously that’s just anecdotal, but if Tesla can’t separate themselves from Musk while he’s trashing his personal brand and right while a ton of competing electric vehicles are coming on the market… they are going to have a bad time.

Yeah, no, I’m not remotely embarrassed to be driving a Tesla. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned, and I’d happily buy another, knowing full-well that Musk had nothing to do with its production.

That said, the Tesla board absolutely needs to kick his ass out, and the more he spews bullshit, the more likely it is I’ll buy another brand.
