Buyer Beware. I got a “6 feet of Snickers” one year and it was just enough to fill the little plastic window on one end, then a huge chunk of cardboard, then the same number of Snickers on the other side to balance it. I got maybe 8 regular sized candy bars and I’m guessing my in-laws paid like $20.

At this point I think it’s fair game to open packages in the store to make sure you aren’t getting bamboozled.
no you just check the net weight label on the package
To be extra thorough you should take it home to make sure it’s good before paying.
Maybe a nibble to ensure it’s fresh.
