I’d say it’s by design. There’s a strong push against even something like ranked voting. While that has it’s flaws voting A or B doesn’t work. Especially A or B can’t identify as either nor can be trusted. Prime example is Charlie Christ.

The US needs to go multi party with a better voting system, but I don’t see it able to do that until it has hit bottom.

It’s there but unless you vote for the same two parties it’s considered a wasted vote. Think of it as the Rump jerking off dance. It’s like when Bernie ran for office, he got squashed and those people got into office positions. Really the main focus should be what political stances and history they have.

You need a voting system that supports multiple parties. It’s amazing we in the UK manage multiple parties at all with FPTP.

Anything but what it is now. I mean everyone complains how people don’t vote but I can’t expect anyone in their 60/70/80 range to even comprehend what they vote for. I haven’t even hit 40 and I struggle. I don’t have the time to read every 200-400 page bill that a one sentence “summary” and the amount of research for whoever you vote for is a complete mess. I get why people can’t be bothered with voting now.
