July 19 (Reuters) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on Sunday that laboratory experts re-checked lettuce sample results from Taylor Farms in an ‌investigation into an outbreak of the cyclospora parasite and concluded the finding should be considered a false positive. As of Sunday, there were no confirmed positive sample results for cyclospora, the FDA added.

The FDA on Saturday had said that a sample of shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms tested positive for the parasitic illness that has sickened thousands of people in the U.S.

A spokesperson for Taylor Fresh Foods told Reuters that the company was informed the FDA made a mistake.

So you’re telling me that I abstained from Taco Bell’s Crunchwrap Supreme for nothing?

I’m still a fan of the cheesy double beef burrito. Super basic, but it hits the spot every time.

Slightly unrelated, but if you have a chance to go to the Taco Bell Cantina on the Vegas Strip, absolutely do it. The quality is miles better than an average location (my brother and I said it must be like the corporate kitchen equivalent), they have alcohol, and you can walk around the Strip before/after.

Edit: also, always get your burritos grilled! I found out that was an option once when I ordered at a kiosk and it’s changed my life.

Thanks for the tip… I have a couple of Taco Bell tips to pass along.

First, I don’t know the science behind this, but if you mix Baja Blast with Pink Lemonaid, the pink and blue turn clear.

Second, a few weeks ago I picked up some powdered THC and sprinkled that into a chili cheese burrito… might just be one of the greatest things I’ve ever done.

The last few times I’ve gotten it there have been like 3 crumbs of beef throughout the whole thing. Like, you could not possibly put that small an amount of meat on accidentally. I’d feel better about it if they actually just forgot the meat altogether. They are clearly putting the smallest amount of meat possible on those things, total ripoff.

Call me anti lettuce but unless I’m eating a salad (which I’m not getting from a fast food place) I doubt I’d realize if all the fast food placed permeantly removed lettuce from the menu.
