You say “most human of us”, but that sounds pretty superhuman to me. I don’t think I could drink 24 cups of coffee in a day even if it was all I was subsisting on.

    Me after a 7th cup

I was at 5300 ml (1.3 us gallon? One Chefman, anyway) a day until she asked me to cut back. That’s about on the edge where one can pick up Earl Grey Syndrome, I think it’s called. It’s weird.

Yeah. I add about 3L of water too, and the tea is now largely decaf because she asked and she’s gorgeous. But I hydrate like mad.

I do not like the taste of coffee; even fancy-brewed frothed-milk creations meant to be so appealing. My twin loves the stuff.

Stimulants often affect ADHD folk differently than the neurotypical.

My mother used to react with skepticism to my claim that caffeine didn’t really affect me, and that, in fact, I slept better after some caffeine.

When I was (much later in life) diagnosed with ADHD, fucking VINDICATION.

It’s also why treating ADHD with stimulants is possible. They have a nonstandard effect compared to what they have on the neurotypical.
