When Jesus returns I’ll be first in line to fight him until I turn to dust. I’ve read the holy books and the histories surrounding the abrahamic texts, I’m aware of the nature of the world around us and the state of human anatomy, and I just cannot see any sort of omnipotent or all powerful being on our side.

He’s either a liar or he invented suffering and cruelty, in either case he is the enemy.

The same thought occurred to me, that He is only on the side of the righteous, virtuous, and just people of goodwill and pure intentions. Which would rule out the vast majority of we vicious and predatory animals that just like to think of ourselves as humans, when we’re really only animals (homo sapiens). He said plenty of things that confirm this, one of which was

“I pray for them. I am not praying for the world(or the people that are of the world), but (only) for those you have given me, for they are yours.” - John 17:9

And specifically about the apocalypse :

“For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones” Matthew 24:21-22
