I don’t think many LLMs have been trained on much code that is closed source

If they can’t pay for themselves they will fail. I wonder which ones will survive, several are spending far more than they earn and are racing to make the best AI before they run out of money

For someone starting out as a programmer for low level programming I would recommend rust

If it has problems, are they going to be worse than what a new programmer is going to produce on their own?

If this is picked up by any big distributions the code will be thoroughly reviewed and any bad design is likely to be fixed

I hope they have a good backup and recovery solution

And unsurprisingly my framework laptop works perfectly under Linux

Windows now is easier, Linux is easiest, especially for a dev environment
