  • but I almost didn’t click on it because of the shitty title.

I mean I cannot know what any given person thinks is a good title. I just find things I find worth sharing and post to comms I think are relevant. It is up to the people here to decide if they care for it. I’ve had lemms ask me for summaries on a 10min video. I can see why they might want one for an hour long, but at a certain point its not up to me to “sales pitch” and I do have other things I’d like to do as well.

Still I think this is a good video and one that we can share with our loved ones that are not at the level of understanding that we are.

  • I didn’t say the situation was ideal, just to be productive about where we are. From the person i was replying purist world view graphene os shouldn’t even exist if its not going to be a full OEM from the start.

I stand by what I said, done is better than not. Its really frustrating that even my fellow lefties on lemmy would rather complain rather than make incremental progress to the society we want.

We may have to forgo some convenience, but its hard to say where. I’m not going to stop living with out electricity and water, but missing out on tap to pay with my phone was okay with me. Its up to you to see where you are and how you may persuade others.

  • What “progress” are we seeing in Android space? …

Fair point, and what are you doing about it? There are still ROMs and Linux Mobile is still a bit of a ways off.

You know how the AK47 has a bit of a freedom fighter rep? Did you know that the FN FAL has/had similar icon status for libertarian types? Would you hesitate to pick up an FN if it freed us from capitalism?

I didn’t say you are wrong to complain. I did say you are wrong to wait for perfection. You go to war1 with the army you have not the one you want, and android is in your army use it to your best ability or lose the whole conflict.

1all war is class war so the expression still fits
