Why are people trying to justify this, the city can put in chilled water taps like those Elkay ones for super cheap. As far as I know, unless Mint has patched something very recently, that 144hz monitor is throttled to 70 right now. You still probably have better frame times, which matters, but is obviously not the same as a higher refresh rate.

It’s just a fundamental flaw in X11’s design that can’t be fixed as far as I know.
