I mean, I wouldn’t, because he’s way out of my league, and probably straight, and most likely he’s busy right now, or waiting on someone, and the music in here is really loud, so he probably wouldn’t be able to hear me well enough to chat because I’m soft spoken…
Bryan is so my exact type
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto World News@lemmy.world•Russia offers political asylum to Elon Musk over Trump feudEnglish81·15 days ago“Elon has too much government information to go to Russia!”
Y’all, please, listen, Russia already has our government information. The important thing to note here is that whether Elon runs off to Moscow or not, Russia making the offer may well drive a wedge between Russia and Trump. That, in and of itself, is good news. Trump has very few political allies at this point, with most of the world turning against him and trusting the US less. If he is even further alienated, there’s a decent chance his party loses reelection or refuses to go along with his insane 3rd term plans. It’ll take us a long time to rebuild international goodwill, but alienating Trump is a good thing.
Happy to proven wrong is there’s an aspect I’m not considering here, but in my mind when the fascist fight each other it’s good for the rest of us. Makes them easier to tackle, especially if the nonfash (and specifically the left) can unify.

He’s anti-AI, but to the point where he sees absolutely no value in it at all. Can’t really blame him considering stories like this. But they are incredibly useful for brainstorming, and recently I’ve found chat gpt to be really good at helping me learn Spanish, because it’s conversational. I can have conversations with it in Spanish where I don’t feel embarrassed or weird about making mistakes, and it corrects me when I’m wrong. They have uses. Just not the uses people seem to think they have

Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.3·7 months agoAlso, gotta say, I love Lemmy, but it still weirds me out being recognized across multiple communities. Like, noticing the same users in one subreddit over and over, or being recognized in the sub is one thing. But on Lemmy I notice the same names pop up in multiple communities, and have had people continue conversations from one community in another because they recognize the username. It’s a weird experience. I feel like I’m in Mayberry. Lol

Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Finally settled on slrpnk, and only ever use this one when I accidently log into it without paying attention.
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.2·7 months ago32f is the same as 0c, and they’re both freezing. 0c is the temp at which brine freezes, but nobody really knows/cares about that. Where I live it down to -25f/-31c at least a few times a year, and normally you can expect at least a few weeks to a month below 32f/0c, but the last few years have been mild
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.465·7 months agoYeah, nah, I’m on the side of the government paying for utilities. Human right to electricity. Figure out a system to prevent overuse, but everyone deserves to have heating and cooling when needed.
That said, definitely wear a sweater in the winter if you can. Acclimate to the season and you’ll hate going outside a lot less, and need less heating in the winter. I typically don’t heat most of my home in the winter (I don’t have central heating). I just use a space heater in whatever room I’m in, and move it to the next room with me, and wear warm clothes. I’m in Tennessee, which routinely gets well below freezing in the winter. Not ideal, but it works

I ask because I’ve been meaning to switch to my alt, but I made a point of subbing to as many communities as possible to make Lemmy more fun to use for me, and good lord, it’s a lot to do.

Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Dynamic pricing is coming to grocery stores151·1 year agoI’ve seen grocery stores with digital price thingies on the shelf in front of the items before. They’ll probably switch to that it it ever became a legal issue. Some people, not me, would suggest, though I would never, that breaking those and shoplifting would be good and ethical responses to such activity. In theory. I’d never suggest that, though. All that businesses do is good, and a hundred quantbrillion lifted out of poverty and blah blah blah flag waving gif
I honestly used to love a traffic jam on the way to work. An extra hour I wasn’t at work, just chillin’ listening to my music, not being at fucking work. It was great. If traffic was completely stopped, like put it in park, turn off the ignition stopped, then it was Netflix on my phone time baby.
Traffic jams on the way home suuuucked though. At the time real time traffic info in my area was spotty at best, though. Almost impossible to use as an excuse now.
I am ashamed to admit I have never tried this, and just learned to throat the hard way. :/
Beautiful doxies. I have 3, they’re such amazing creatures.

Korra is good, but it doesn’t hit the same, and 70 years is not enough to fully industrialize a society.
If you are into solar punk slrpnk.net has been amazing for me. Due to some weird timing with the admin being out of town when the servers went down they’re down right now for a bit, so I’m not sure when they’ll be back up and running. But the current situation is a hiccup, not a consistent issue. I love the server, and if anything, the community reaction to the admin being unable to fix this for a few weeks has made me love it even more.
