I mean it’s kind of amazing that LW admins haven’t banned him for this, really reflects poorly on our instance that people like him are allowed to thrive and troll here.

I would say it’s actually harmful to go around calling everyone who disagrees with you “pro genocide” while claiming to support Palestine. That’s what Linkerbaan has been doing, plus trying to start trouble with any moderator who banned him. Let us be clear, the reason why Linkerbaan should be banned is that he is well known for harassing people, making false claims, and being uncivil in general by claiming anyone who disagrees with him is “pro-genocide”. He isn’t doing the pro-Palestine movement any favors by lashing out at random people and claiming anyone who pushes back against him is pro-Israel and/or pro-genocide.

Yep. And the user you replied to is very similar. I have come to the conclusion that people this are actively intentionally trying to make Palestinians suffer more. They at minimum have zero concern for basic reality and that alone is irresponsible. But yeah they also take it a step further by making people want to tune out completely by immediately claiming others support/love genocide.

Exactly, these types of bad-faith arguments about everyone who disagrees with them end up hurting the message because they turn someone being pro-genocide into just another insult that gets thrown around and means nothing. So they’re actually hurting Palestinians by devaluing criticism towards the genocide in this way.
