Miss Universe has always been won by someone from Earth. Coincidence?
I did some digging and the jury is also always from that planet and also quite racist. It’s not only always someone from earth but also from the human race.
That’s why analyzing power structures is so crucial. I don’t believe that they actively exclude non earthers or non humans, but the jury is more likely to choose their own kind and the people putting together the jury are as well.
Iirc there is a strategy in the US in one team sport for management to have a quota, not in outcome but the shortlist has to contain one non human (or non white, I’m not sure) and that alone raised the outcome because it made people seen that were invisible for the committee before.
you made me want to look it up. apparently the official story is that non humans simply don’t apply as much to even qualify. but of course this is likely a classic case of societal expectations and the way we raise our young.
most wolves for example don’t even know they could apply for miss universe, but that creates a catch-22 type situation where this is informed by lack of representation, which makes wolved think they’re not even considered for miss universe, but in that belief they refrain from applying and there’s a vicious cycle that effectively excludes wolves from miss universe.
For now…
This is so insensitive. None of those planets sent any representatives for at least the last 12 years and you aren’t even acknowledging why.
From what my history teacher tought me, the ancient Olympic games might have been inspired by people from other planets than earth, but I think outside the solar system
Out of the hundreds of judges, over 97% were born on Earth.
All 97%, and all of the remaining 3%, have lived on or in the orbit of Earth for the past three consecutive years. Their financial records indicate that their income is primarily from terrestrial sources.
Why are they not all the same number? Multiple people got the same medal? Why is this so much more often with bronze?
Iirc judo always gives two bronze medals but I’m not sure if this is the case in the Olympics as well. Maybe other disciplines do the same. And according to the metric, it might be possible to have the same points and therefore share one medal.
Gold having 1 more is weird because you would expect no silver if two have gold and therefore a difference of 2. Maybe in one weight class there only qualified one person and got the medal by default?

Vinesh Phogat was disqualified for being overweight during the weigh-in of the 50kg women’s wrestling final. Her opponent got gold, and both losing semifinalists got silver.
It became a big controversy in India because she had been <50kg for every match until then, and she had previously protested against the wrestling federation - which chose her dietician and other staff - for covering up sexual assault cases.

It is (I watched an Olympics judo event).
Contest #1: 2 Gold - 0 Silver - 1 Bronze
Contest #2: 1 Gold - 2 Silver - 0 Bronze
Having one gold more makes perfect sense if you look at multiple contests.
Were there so many shared 3rd places?
Sports like boxing come to mind where 3rd place isn’t fought for, it’s just bronze for both losers of the semifinals.
Ah okay makes sense
are the other planets even trying?
Why is mercury ranked second despite having the same number of medals (zero) as the unranked ones? Who did Mercury pay off for this “mistake” to happen? Is big Mercury subtly trying to influence our perception of them?
Mercury didn’t win a medal but was giving an honorary one for winning the freestyle orbital revolution in a record 88 days.
I was thinking the OC could’ve (should’ve) started some shit by putting them in order by distance from the sun as they are now, except for putting Saturn before Mercury. And then enjoy the hand wringing.
Those “unranked” ones are actually tied for second place.
It’s just based on their proximity to the sun
It’s not, other planets aren’t wasting a cent and increasing their pollution for this farce and corrupted event. You win the olympics by not participating.
Upvote for a quality zoo exhibit
Neptune hasn’t won a single medal since Phelps retired
why is mercure second and all other planets not on the podium ?
They haven’t finished yet, and third place is still TBD
What about Omicron Persei 8? Surely they got some medal in the human eating contest?
Disqualified, Lrrr tested positive for human horn (upper and lower)
Still shocked they kicked out Pluto over a doping scandal.

I’m disappointed with Uranus!
I’ve heard that before
