It is important to note that when Yellowstone erupts, it won’t pop like a pimple, Mt. Saint Helens style. A Yellowstone eruption will likely be lava coming to the surface. It is still devastating, and it will destroy the natural habitat and likely kill most animals that refuge there, but it won’t kill the planet.

EDIT: You still want that beer though. An eruption might affect hops production in places like Idaho.

    2024 - World population: 8 Billion.
    1974 - World population: 4 Billion.

So, it would take us back to 1974?

This is one of those things that has me metronome between anxious and calm. On one hand, freak out because it could happen. On the other, man life is so simple, and it’s worth laughing at my other stressors because it could just all be done and over tonorrow

it’s one of the last things you should worry about, it’s extremely unlikely to happen and when it does happen it’ll apparently just vomit up a bunch of lava rather than exploding.
