Some fighters will receive bonuses in ‘stablecoins’ issued by Trump family business World Liberty Financial

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced on Friday that it will pay bonuses to fighters in a form of cryptocurrency issued by Trump family business World Liberty Financial at the heavily publicized White House mixed martial arts event on Sunday.

The development connects the Trump family’s financial interests to the high-profile UFC competition being promoted on government property. The competition on the south White House lawn is scheduled for 14 June, Donald Trump’s birthday.

The UFC said some fighters will receive bonuses in World Liberty Financial crypto called “stablecoins”, whose value is pegged to the US dollar. World Liberty named the currency “USD1”.

So… they aren’t paying them at all. Just admit it. If you are being paid in any cryptocurrency… you are not being paid in a legal tender that 100% of the country accepts.

It’s a perfect precursor to the level of grift they are trying to get to if they are not stopped:

Donald Trump has laid the groundwork to become one of the wealthiest people on the planet by personally making money from every dollar printed in the United States. And the worse the economy gets, the more money he stands to make. The House has already passed three crypto bills that would make this potential a reality by allowing the Trump family to control the global stablecoin market. Now it’s up to the Senate. It’s a wild story that the media won’t report on because they don’t get it. But some very powerful people have figured it out and now the race is on to stop Trump from becoming the shadow central banker to the world.

Legal loophole because they aren’t supposed to make money on any of this. It’s pegged stablecoins, they’ll cash out to dollars, yuan, dinar, etc… Literally the next day.

But as long as it can be converted to legal tender, it still counts. Some folks get paid partially in stock, after all, and it works for them.

It’s a stablecoin used by the POTUS to accept bribes. I don’t see it collapsing while he’s in office

Might as well be USD, since Trump would use the full might of the US government to ensure he can continue enriching himself

It’s closer to the opposite tbh. The Boys more often than not outright mimicked reality to make its commentary obvious as opposed to actually practicing good writing hygiene. It didn’t really have anything further or more unique to say than: “look, US politics and culture but… superhumans!!!”

Is this the same crypto that you can’t cash out without Trump’s permission?

That’s like worse than getting nothing.

Ok, ok, ok, it hurts…but does it hurt as much as being repeatedly punched in the face then not being paid for it?

The UFC said some fighters will receive bonuses in World Liberty Financial crypto called “stablecoins”, whose value is pegged to the US dollar. World Liberty named the currency “USD1”.

It says the crypto is being used for bonuses. That suggests they are also getting other pay, hopefully with actual money.

“This sounds like advertising,” Todd Phillips, an expert in crypto at the Klaros Group, told the Guardian. He said “Paying the fighters in the USD1 stablecoin would have the same economic function as writing them a check but announcing to the world they are doing it in USD1 sounds like they are adverting to the world that USD1 is out there and that it is connected to the UFC and the White House.
