Pepperoni, jalapenos, and pineapple is the best pie with pineapple as a topping. The spice of the jalapenos pairs very nicely with the sweet pineapple, and pepperoni is just good to boot.
Either you and I have met in real life or there’s another madman out there with the exact same thoughts on pizza.
I go out to Keystone Colorado most years to go snowboarding and stay near or on the mountain. There is a pizza joint there called “Pizza on the Run” where I first had it. It’s now a staple for every trip I take out there.
I usually do red onions but jalapenos could work pretty well too, I should try that.
the real secret is to cut the pineapple fresh then put it on, don’t cook it with the pizza
cooked pineapple is fucking nasty, fresh pineapple on pizza is great
you gotta sear the pineapple first, then you get the nice flavorful stuff and it’s not all wet
I certainly do too, but have you had goat cheese and honey pizza? 🤤
I can’t eat jalapeños (intolerance or something) so here are some other good pineapple combos worth trying.
- Regular sauce, pineapple, feta, optional artichoke
- Sweeter sauce, pineapple, pepperoni, banana peppers
- BBQ sauce, pineapple, roasted chicken (or meatballs!), red onion
- Pesto sauce, pineapple, sausage, and roasted red peppers (my favorite!)
It’s like cold pizza in the morning: an addiction.
Tbh olives are a far bigger tragedy when it comes to toppings on pizza.
