I do have some experience with it, though I prefer other avenues for decentralized collaboration tooling. No, my curse of knowledge of what an “average joe” does and knows is exponentially changing😔. It would be far more beneficial to host it at a datacenter, maybe a VPS, so it can operate 24/7, as they have 24/7 uninterruptable power supplies, maintenance, crew, temperature control, etc… You can also allow nextcloud themselves to host it for you, if you don’t want the extra trouble of maintenance.

In modern social media, not lemmy, everything in my bio is displayed on my name field. The timestamp being the last thing in the field. Other frontends allow to see the bio just by hovering your select icon over to a name.
Ideally we would be in OCapN, so I could ignore my DNIs at network level, but that’s not where the yard sold are.

In social media, DNI specifically means Do not interact. The two types of folks I don’t want interacting with me in regards to “saying the things wrong” would be Xeno[glossophobics] & grammarians. E.i., I am fine foreign words&phrases & misspells. People that prohibit others from doing so, simply don’t have to interact with me whatsoever. It saves us both trouble.
