XMPP is just the protocol, you can create a client which looks like any proprietary alternative like Discord (fluux tries to have the same look for example)

Movim is IMO the best alternative using XMPP and it’s adding more and more features the last weeks stay tuned! see here

There is also mps-yt (deprecated I think) and ytfzf for YouTube and lobster for movies/TV shows

So if I understand correctly, they fire professional voice actors and replace them with grotesque AI voice bots. I hope there will be more fandubbing in the future
