Do we as a society really need reminding don’t point weapons at police? Don’t do it folks.

Do we need a reminder that kids aren’t mini-adults, and they do stupid things sometimes? In any case, I’ll believe he pointed it at them when I see a video of it.

Not “13-year-old killed in police shooting” or “a 13-year old died during a police interaction” etc. Nope, they fully went with “Police in New York shoot and kill 13-year-old.” Thank you, PBS.

The shooting happened Friday night after officers in Utica stopped two youths at around 10:18 p.m.

One of them fled and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the officers, according to a statement by the Utica Police Department.

I’ll be interested to see when that footage is released and what it contains.

Our Democrats would never let him win, and that’s before you even get to the Republicans. Republican heads might actually explode if we elected a progressive who dared to call themselves a Democratic Socialist.

Meanwhile, Democrats are also crushed under the thumb of all the money big business pours into bribery lobbying, and they have already made it clear twice that they won’t let him get on the ballot.

We’ll never get progressive policies or a progressive president unless the progressives infiltrate D to the extent maga has infiltrated R.

We’d just be disappointed again. The right would hate him more than Hillary and corporatist Dems still control the DNC. They wouldn’t let him win.

OTOH a common opinion I hear is that he probably has more capability for direct lasting change being where he is, and I can see that being true, so there is that bit of small comfort.

I’d give my life savings to see this from Sanders. Of course, then we’d lose him, so it would have to be part of his retirement announcement.

She pretty much created her own bad reputation. Not just from this show, but it definitely cemented it. There was also a sex tape scandal, but I think it was wrong to slutshame someone for something like that even back then.

Her main reputation was always vapid, filthy rich, snotty socialite - she was hardly the first, but she might have been the first we got to watch in a seasons-long reality show.

Edited to add - if that stuff was all an intentional move to bring shame on her family for how they mistreated her growing up, I’m now her biggest cheerleader.

Seriously though - I am doubtful we could meet these requirements to add an amendment stating the sky is observably blue in the current state of things in the US. It’s hard for me to imagine we’ll ever pass an amendment for any purpose ever again unless things change quite a lot.

A proposed amendment must pass a two-thirds vote in both houses of Congress, or if two-thirds of the states petition Congress, a new constitutional convention can be called to consider amendments. In any event, three-fourths of the state legislatures must ratify the amendment for it to become a permanent part of the Constitution.

Schadenfreude intensifies…

I have servers on Digital Ocean and Linode and also one in my basement, and have had no problem. I do have all services behind NPM (not to suggest it’s a panacea) and use HTTPS/SSH for everything. (not to suggest HTTPS/SSH are either) My use case could be different than yours - my immediate family are my only consumers - but have been running the same services in those locations for a few years now without issue.

This one never really gets old anymore.

The only sensible solution then is to ban toddlers from EVs. They’ll just have to walk.
