I had hoped they would tell a story from another world perspective, e.g. Samurai world or something. Instead we got burn everything to the ground and try to take over the world lameness. It suffered from poor writing, terrible dialog, and no sense of direction. I wanted something cerebral not action for the sake of action. That’s also my take on most new sci-fi unfortunately. They take away the sci and slam in fantasy as if it’s interchangeable.

As far as I’ve been able to tell, OP is interested in an OS for his desktop or laptop, not steam deck, so desktop is likely a valid concern of theirs.
I agree the Steam Deck’s proprietary interface is decently polished.
The desktop environment is clunky at best and the default GUI is 100% proprietary. I own a Steam Deck and use it near daily in both modes. If that’s the most polished I shudder to think what you normally use. The other guy linked Nobara I think? From the home page it looks like a pretty decent option.

I think this is a great topic. I think it comes down to incentives. Artists going to the trouble of writing music, practicing, recording, editing and publishing probably expect to make some money. Individual artists who have low overhead and are doing it for the love of it probably have a better experience on Youtube as that’s where the audience is?

My understanding is some parts have to be done sequentially even though the parts themselves are multithreaded, now the different parts can all be done in parallel.
