It isn’t proprietary either
It isn’t proprietary either
What part of Matrix is proprietary? It’s not an app, instead, it’s an open protocol that can be used by anyone to build a messaging app or host a server.
Discord is an absolute piece of garbage, it’s not a good messaging app, definitely not a good place to host a community (seriously, I don’t understand why some communities saw Discord as an alternative after the Reddit API changes), and most importantly, it’s spyware. The company doesn’t have a business model and it was founded by a guy who is notorious for creating random shit that’s not economically sustainable at all. I don’t understand why anyone would use this shit. This video outlines everything that’s wrong with Discord: https://youtube.com/watch?v=uvNkdAggUGU

I remember using this (cheating a little bit with VPNs and proxies so I could claim the rewards like 20 times every day, because they are separate in every country) to get some Xbox giftcards
I also had ~15 Microsoft accounts and I put them all in a Microsoft family so I could transfer points from one account to another, it was really fun lol
Edge is the worst recommendation I’ve ever seen in my life
Linux isn’t Unix, it’s Unix-like
uBlock Origin should prevent this, other ad-blockers might not have these bypass mechanisms.
Using Signal with disappearing messages set to a really short time is probably the closest thing you can get. You can use a VOIP number from Cloaked behind a VPN to sign up anonymously.
If you do neofetch > .bashrc
you will simply have a broken shell config. To add neofetch
to the bashrc you need to use echo.
I second this. Navidrome is great and it can be used with any Subsonic-compatible client which makes it even more awesome.
There is Last.fm, Libre.fm, as well as ListenBrainz.
I love GrapheneOS and they tried everything to make Chromium less shitty, but Vanadium still lacks fingerprinting protection as well as support for ad blocking. That’s why I use Mull, a hardened fork of Firefox, for everything except banking.
Pro tip: Infect your Windows friends with malware, then get them to switch to Linux

For security reasons GrapheneOS doesn’t allow the modification of system files. You can achieve the same thing with DNS though. Either self-host a Pi-Hole or AdGuard Home, or use something like NextDNS.
GrapheneOS significantly increases security, rooting does the exact opposite
I wouldn’t recommend a Pixel older than the Pixel 6 as these will soon be EOL.
