I interpreted the article to mean that the developers are suing the crowd funding platform. It appears that the platform hasn’t given the majority of the money that was crowd sourced to the developers.

Thanks for your opinion! I saw stirrings of how people really didn’t like the ending and rumors the anime may change it due to backlash so I was curious if I should just read the manga and see how they adapt it or change it. I’ll see how I feel after next weeks finale!
