News@lemmy.world•America is drinking more coffee but less of it from StarbucksEnglish
6·14 days agoI favor independent coffee shops too, and I agree with everything you said. Starbucks is useful for when you’re on-the-go or traveling, for when you need a reliable 3rd space with seating, bathroom, and wifi.
Another thing I give Starbucks points for is high customization. I can do an online order as detailed as I want and know exactly what’s in it. Oh and the drive-thrus and early/late opening hours are convenient. Very helpful for shift workers.

38·17 days agoI feel for you. Scheduled probably means it’s an important call, and it’s like the whole day’s on pause just waiting to get it over with.
The little mustache makes me giggle xD

2·1 month agoI experience this too. I have to go to my communities list to make sure my subscription’s on there (which it almost always is, but I still have to double check).
Neat! I’ve never seen a white squirrel before:)

News@lemmy.world•Consumer confidence slides in December to lowest level since US tariffs rolled outEnglish
3·2 months agoAnecdotal, but my friend who’s a teacher noticed that while he usually gets tons of Christmas cards and gifts from his students, this year not so much. It’s like an indicator for the economy. People seem to be less festive and/or are having to cut costs this year.
