A personal laptop of an employee is a very good entrypoint for an attacker. First thing you do is log in to your job. It may be a vpn, a site login, some token gets stored on your computer for the day. If someone gets access to this, it can be devastating. So, if a vulnerability gets discovered and patched by the OS, it can be very important to update as soon as possible. So companies scan their empoyees laptops, is one thing, and if the try to connect they also try to check that the computer appears up to date, is known, and so on.

Companies lock out the computer because it is lacking updates rather than have it working. Apple broke ssh on all their macs with an update for three months or so. Managed to postpone it for a while until the called and said I have to update or be locked out. Luckily I had postponed it for so long that the next update arrived just like a week later.

Thats right, in a program where they were talking about how every single one with two foreign born parents and half (because “that seems fair”, they said in the program) of those with a single foreign born parent are paricipating in a replacement conspiracy, they at the same time worried about the great gap in the statistics that does not keep track on who is third generation immigrants, so the replacement is even greater than that.

How far? If you’ve got a you got a grandpa with a sun tan you might be impure to these fucks. But our government thinks they are fine people.

Edit, oh yeah, the native Sami people and Jews are not Swedish to them either. They have doubled down on this many times.

“The libs” = liberals, which in a US context is often considered left (of the republican) albeit it being a very rightwing ideology, today mostly focusing on privatization of public good.

Libertarias are, in this context, hyper individualists who do not like any form of government. They do not like when their gun ownership is restricted, if they are stopped by the cops for speeding, have to pay any form of tax, or if they get a fine for dumping their house sewage into the local river.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it “tells us something about reality”, as the expression goes, but it is useful in describing reality. Like the last statement of waves, which was supposed to be an spaced out exageration, is how much of physics is built. You look at something and wonder how to describe it. Sometimes it make sense to start with a single pulse, wave, or oscillator, which does not solve it completely and so you add more perturbations to it. You do this sort of stuff basically everywhere in physics. Everywhere else, some other correspondence usually appear. In computer science you use hard problems to design cryptos, physics gets stuck at the same problems. String theory uses algebraic geometry and end up with models where the areas they cannot solve is where elliptic curve crypos come from.

Is such a bad summary, and all of the people prasing this law in this comment section as well, fail to mention a very important other “bad behaviour” which is suppose to be included in this law: Being a fucking VICTIM of a crime. They have been saying this since day one. Victims of crimes needs to be deported.

Their resoning is that someone being victim of a crime is probably living in a social situation which the far-right government deem inappropriate. Like “undeclared work”; is your boss not paying their taxes for your work? You need to go.

This law is there because it is the first step in creating an apartheid. If you have a single parent born in a foreign country – the far right is even talking about their worry about “third generation” immigrants – they should not be considered Swedish. Punishments for them they say must be different, you must always be threatened with deportation. You should not have access to public services and so on.

This law is a fucking god-send for neo-nazis. Can you imagine? Immigrants who are victims of crime gets deported. Assault them, rape them, and they will be deported if they say anything. But the neo-nazi can go home and have dinner with their family. This is probably what the current government wants as one minister has an active club neo-nazi son! He is not being deported because he is in an extremist organization! Oh, wait, sorry it is just “kids with an interest in fitness”, as several government party reps have been saying about actual neo-nazis.

Note that it is not a government ID, a lot of correspondence with the government; taxes, health care, …, is used for it. But it is made by a cartel of seven swedish banks.

They had a linux version way back. I do not think it will ever come back. Not in Sweden at least. Either Google will pressure the cartel of banks which develops the eID app to use the dumb Google Play attestation API which prevents it from working even on more open android versions like GrapheneOS, or they will simply find it too convenient to start using that API. Then it’s finished. There is no demand from anyone, as you cannot even run it on any non-Google sanctioned device. There is no competition, but just a cartel of all the biggest banks which develops the single eID app (there is one alternative which works in very few places). It is not looking good.

Setup your ssh config to use a proxy command which uses netcat to knock on the ports. Ansible will work with that.

I suppose it is a very effective approach to attack a lot of IT infrastructure. Like how much CI and build systems rely on you being able to pull an ubuntu image and run some apt on it. You halt build systems, cloud deployment, and probably much more.
