  • I never understood this phenomena myself. Even during its prime. The entire b&m model was so outdated to me. I used to prefer shopping online via Amazon.

Then they enshittified the platform, quality of goods dropped tremendously. Then the stories of poor treatment of warehouse workers and last mile delivery workers was the last straw to me.

Now my retail shopping consists of preferring local groceries and trying to buy direct from brands that I like. I don’t even care about the free shipping anymore. It’s all a farce these days and it’s just an added cost to items now (even if you don’t return the item).

  • to be honest I buried the lede. I withdrew largely due to the long interview process. I had ghosted or left them on read for a week but the viral news reminded me.

Thinking how it would impact me directly? Probably not much. But this is a small company. If leadership is this sloppy at covering up extra marital affairs. How bad is it on the inside?

Shitty leadership in my experience often correlates with awful company culture.

  • What’s killed American innovation itself is the billionaires and their lap dogs — the greedy capitalists, vulture capitalists, private equity, and hedge funds.

Outsourcing to China and decimating our local manufacturing industries, and subsequently losing important skills over generations is a problem caused by these greedy fucks.

It’s no wonder the USA is no longer competitive. Greedy Wall Street fucks in the 1970s-1980s sold our future so they could make a pretty penny in their generation.

Fuck reaganomics. Fuck trickle down economic theory. Fuck the centrists and GOP that allowed this corporate/billionaire welfare state to take hold over this country.

  • Smells like corporate meddling.

Reminds me of the 60 Minutes and CBS controversy. In the mid-90s, producers worked on a segment to expose big tobacco knew about the dangers of nicotine yet sold products anyways.

Big tobacco laid down the pressure on 60 Minutes and CBS network. 60 Minutes was huge back then and had high levels of journalistic integrity. Ultimately, CBS executives killed/delayed/manipulated/watered down the big tobacco story. CBS was at the time was apparently in merger with Westinghouse and executives were pissing their pants the big tobacco lawsuit could kill that M&A.

ABC is owned by Walt Disney now. I think they have a few acquisitions lined up that they need green lit by Orange man administration. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case here.

Fire Moran to appease Orange man.

Honestly need to break up the big corporations.
