The surveillance state’s powers are currently being revamped with greater mass analysis abilities. The difficulty in organizing a resistance beyond protesting will probably mean more individuals taking drastic actions on their own, than if organizing was easy.

Yeah, a civil war of mass action will never happen, and if it did happen, the left would be crushed with millions of casualties. The great majority of the violent power is in fascist hands. They will command 80%+ of the military and civilian police forces. The majority of civil armament, training, and callous disregard for life is on the right. Those somewhat in the middle will shift rightward when their friends and families who are military and police get attacked.

If thug A decides to kill oligarch A, and then travel a long distance to aid thug B in killing oligarch B, then they could likely fail, because oligarchs A & B worked out a means to communicate their proof of life to each other. Many ways to do that, including dedicated messengers. If oligarch B hasn’t received a timely proof of life, then they murder thug A’s family and tell thug B that their family is in danger from outsiders overtaking bunker A. Thug B will likely travel to bunker A.

The thugs would have to collude. A major goal of the oligarchs will be placing many obstacles against collusion.

You are right in that “idiot” is the wrong word, but I am too much of an idiot to know the correct term for individuals who can be the masters of all knowledge and science, yet bring harm to others based on groupthink because they just want to play with others in their small part of the world. I truly understand the benefits of communities evolved from religious associations. I love that stuff! I would bet that nearly 100% of humans love that stuff.
