I’ve been on Linux for about 15 years now … I’m no pro and I’ve never really advanced in anything with the terminal

I tried doing stuff years ago but then I came at a crossroad … either spend my life learning the dark arts of the terminal and all the details of how every major system works … reinstall every time I have a new problem that I caused … or just leave everything alone and never tweak or adjust anything.

For the past few years, I just install the latest stable version of anything I use and never bother touching or tweaking anything … never had a problem since.

This isn’t an Israeli or American problem anymore.

It’s a world problem.

We’re all complicit in allowing one country to destroy another.

We’re all complicit in allowing a genocide to occur.

When the Jewish holocaust occurred, the world said never again. It will never cease to amaze me that the latest genocide is being perpetuated by the same people who keep reminding the world of how terrible it is for one group of people to dehumanize, disregard, dismiss and destroy another people.

The best part is that this is just run of the mill environmental imbalances for the planet. It’s faced far worse scenarios than this. Even if we caused nuclear holocaust, the planet has seen similar natural events in the past.

Even if the ocean dies right now, it’s happened before and after a few million years it all came back.

So in the scale of millions of years … the planet is just suffering from a flu.

It’s us that will be destroyed and eliminated in the process.

From the planet’s perspective, we aren’t a civilization, we’re a temporary infection.

I guess that’s what humanity is aiming for … a holocaust we can all accept.

The only thing we learn from history, is that we don’t learn anything from history.

No one is safe including the rich.

The biggest major effect that global warming will have in the next few years or about 20 to 30 years is … mass migration. Once that starts in earnest, countries will be breaking out in conflicts everywhere. We aren’t cooperating with ourselves within our established borders now, what do you think will happen when millions of people start moving around to avoid the heat and more natural disasters.

Everyone will suffer … the only thing the rich buy themselves is time because we are all headed to the same global environmental apocalypse.

I feel good that I’m middle aged now because I will have lived my younger years when the world was doing relatively OK.

I feel bad for anyone born right now because they’ll either see the beginning of the end or start surviving it.

Saved by the bell

A saying thought to originate from the old custom of safety coffins … where corpses were tied to a string to the surface above them to a bell. So that in case they didn’t die and were still alive, their moving body could pull the string and ring the bell.

If you were buried alive, and you rang the bell and were rescued … you were ‘saved by the bell’

It’s called a plutocracy … a system built on power and those who hold power.

Whatever it is … it isn’t a democracy.

This is all turning into the Trump Presidential Circus Parade to the National Election

American politics are a joke at this point and the whole world is wondering what’s going on under the Red, White and Blue Big Top Circus Show this week. The tickets are expensive, the chairs are uncomfortable, the food will make you sick, the shows are shitty, it makes children cry, the clowns scare people and it’s all powered by a fundraising Christian preacher just outside the tent.

The problem is that we aren’t sending enough money to the wealthy … we need to send them more money because they haven’t been able to trickle some back to us.

Millionaires and billionaires … our modern day logic is to think and believe that someone who owns or has access to enormous sums of money automatically gives them the title of “genius”.

I suppose humanity has always been like that.

We called them Kings, Queens, Lords, Emperors in the past … we changed the titles but the blind praise is still the same.

How about acknowledging the fact that in the US, the average police officer spend over three quarters of their time training to use a firearm.

It’s no different here in Canada. All they want is soldier, give them enough training so that they’ll blindly follow orders, get them to defend the wealthy and control the poor, keep workers subservient and protect property. Give them a gun and a license to kill and encourage a culture of beating people, using violence or shooting people first and then asking questions later.

There’s no mystery or revelation here. Everyone who has ever lived on the skids or has skin color other than white has always known this.
