https://www.thecalifornianpaper.com/2024/05/district-should-implement-four-day-school-week/
There are a handful of districts making the switch. Most districts plan around educational hours instead of school days. It can be done with the right planning.
But the childcare aspect is huge. The district I work for started the conversation of a four day week in school year 22-23, but it stalled when they didn’t get support from parents and the local large hiring companies. I hope that discussion comes back eventually.
I live in socal and it’s super dry right now and HOT. The next city over is doing a “fireworks and night of destruction” tomorrow. I know it’s unlikely but I hope their fireworks were in that seizure.
I’m all down for a night of destruction, but the fireworks right now is suchhh an easy way to start a wild fire. There’s already been a few small ones this past month.
😂😂 this is why we have a rotating designated driver on girls night now lol
Imma miss dollarritas 😰
If you aren’t creative enough to get off, then sex with you is probably useless too. 🤷🏼♀️
But lame ass roasting aside, being responsible during sex is important. Being able to communicate your wants and needs is absolutely necessary. I’ll tell you that I also hated condoms during sex, but it took being with my partner about six months before I felt comfortable enough to bring up a discussion about having sex without condoms. We then talked about the risks of accidental pregnancy, STDs, and my hormones and birth control. In the long term, the time period we used condoms was worth it because we learned each other’s bodies, as well as each other’s personalities. Once we did move to sex without condoms, it was sooooo much better, but we also were better communicators and the sex was wayyy more fun.
You have to be willing to put in the time and effort and trust that leads to a real connection first.
Good Human!
I think this comment is taking out the relationship aspect of what this guy is doing. I’m not in Seattle, but if there was just a regular, reliable dude around here that just delivered food for a flat rate, I’d keep using his service.
This is more about the relationship and trust and building a reliable customer base by providing regular reliable service, than it is for competition. At least at this point.
Unions only work when union leadership is actually working for the betterment of the entire unit, rather than personal clout. I was in a union that ran well, protected employees, and had a great working relationship with management. Issues were handled efficiently and effectively with the contract in place. Then union leadership changed because a retiree rallied to become president, and the effective president stopped trying so hard because of it. So leadership changed and that union went downhill. Current leadership handles issues so poorly, nothing gets resolved and raises are not going to be as high as they could have been negotiated too. The current leadership values the provided lunches at the negotiation meetings over discussion of the actual topics, and working together to come to an agreement for everyone.
Another union I was a part of prior to that was for a big box wholesale store. I was sexually harassed in front of customers by another union member. The meetings were facilitated by management and the union. Management had my side on the issue, but the union advocated for the harasser due to years of service and seniority. They couldn’t even guarantee I wouldn’t work with him again. I eventually left that job, for multiple reasons, but a big one was that experience really broke me. I never felt comfortable working around that person and knowing that my voice would always be lesser compared to anyone who had just worked there longer.
Yeah!!
