12·2 months agoI’ve been using OsmAnd (uses OpenStreetMaps) on my iPhone and it’s been pretty great. Uninstalled Apple Maps so I don’t have to deal with this bullshit.
2·2 months agoIn my experience OsmAnd is way better than Comaps.
In OsmAnd I can type in a business name or an address and not only will it bring up the correct address but it will allow me to navigate. I can do neither in Comaps. Also OsmAnd has CarPlay/Android Auto support with the paid version.
I use Projectivy on my Sony Bravia Google TV. You can set it to auto start as the default launcher so you never see the cluttered mess that is the Google TV launcher.

There’s a Cory Doctorow short story, “The Masque of the Red Death”, that’s exactly this: a bunch of rich, ultra paranoid preppers get together in a bunker after societal collapse. They’re all incredibly selfish and eventually turn on each other. Meanwhile, everyone else cooperates and gets along just fine to survive.
