I don’t say please and thank you to any inanimate objects whatsoever and if I were to begin doing so (which I will never do) computers would be the very last to receive that treatment from me. Personifying computers is not practice for how to treat people. Fuck clankers

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•This is absolutely a shitpost. Send to someone who needs to hear it.
2·18 days agoBut I don’t want to be nice to strangers on the internet, I want to take it out on you cause I can’t take it out on people in real life
What
Nah. Fuck being polite to computers. It’s an object and I own it. I’ll shoot it the instant it expresses any level of personhood.
It’s fucked up how people here only seem to have an issue with the cow getting artificially inseminated. The bulls can’t consent either. Just like with humans, people either don’t concern themselves with male consent, don’t think sexual abuse of men matters nearly as much as when it happens to women. I don’t really have an opinion on artificial insemination, I just found it fucked that this misandrist double standard is so strong it even extends to animals.
Autism/Chad horseshoe theory
Don’t mistake this as me saying this work-til-you-die shit is okay, cause it’s not. But freedom is as much a mindset as it is a material circumstance. There are people who have everything but freedom and there are people who have nothing but freedom.
This is Lemmy Shitpost, everything here is a joke.
dude, this isn’t rage bait. it’s clearly a joke.
Somehow I ended up hating praise… and numb to criticism too. If anyone has an opinion on me, keep it to yourself cause I don’t want to hear it. And don’t talk about me behind my back either. In fact, close your eyes and plug your ears when I’m around cause I’m tired of your perception too.

It’s pretty easy to explain why people prefer CLI over GUI programs. You have to learn a new interface for every single GUI program, whereas you learn one interface for every CLI program.

Cybersecurity - Memes@lemmy.world•What do you guys think? Would this greatly decrease your chances of being hacked?
7·2 months agoIt would marginally decrease the chance of your password being brute forced, which is likely the last way your password would ever get hacked, and most services have rate limiting to make this impossible or overwhelmingly unlikely anyway. So I’m gonna say no, not even slightly.
Yeah I’m gonna venture a guess and say the poster in the image is not a particularly nice person.

We look both ways no matter what because that’s the protocol and the protocol keeps us safe. If you believe it’s safe to deviate from the protocol, you’re opening up a chance to be wrong. It’s that simple.
My chemistry teacher told us this when we were first handling dangerous chemicals and it’s stuck with me ever since.
