There’s quite a number of ARM laptops, even ignoring Apple.
We’re being extra pedantic now? Good, I like it.
So is POWER. Or basically anything not x86 lol.
Not wrong calling the rabid fan base that though…
Give Oracles always free tier a try. I shuffle over a TB through them every month with no issues.
I’d kill for a service where I pay a monthly fee for news sites and it just analyzes which ones I actually used and splits the money up to them accordingly.
This is exactly the reason I use Apple News+. I get access to multiple magazines I have read forever, actual well written journalism, news briefs tailored to my wants, etc. It’s very much worth the price for me.
Epub doesn’t natively have user tracking and DRM either. Mobi files are just ancient and there are better alternatives for them. Like bmp files vs jpg.
…It’s West Virginia?
In my case, it’s less of a “value my time” and more “I’m just tired of being advertised to constantly and want a break”
I’ve been using YouTube Premium (née YouTube Red) for so long that I totally forgot that there are ads on YouTube and was surprised by all of this news popping off.
Remember when Opera had all of these things a literal decade+ ago? I remember.
Literally everyone I talk to uses Telegram and not a single one of us uses their Stories feature. It’s fucking useless in a chat app.
Don’t get me started on fucking paper straws…
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. In the olden times, a bagger (or the cashier) nicely packed the stuff into bags making sure not to break shit. All the stores around me now just yeet shit back into the cart after scanning it with no regard to what it lands on or if it breaks.
Switching from single use plastic to multi-use plastic has greatly increased carbon emissions of production. You also have to reuse the new plastic bags over 100 times for them to break even, emissions wise. (https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2020/04/30/plastic-paper-cotton-bags/)
I agree with you that canvas bags are better overall, but IMO we should move back to paper. It’s WAY easier to reuse paper products, gardeners love the paper bags, and they break down quickly even if they are littered somewhere. There are some tradeoffs, such as transportation costs being higher because they are thicker than single use bags, but if you compare paper to multi-use bags, it’s a fairly moot point.
Also, I’d still rather someone bag my shit for me. I’ve had so many things broken or otherwise damaged by the cashier haphazardly tossing my stuff into the cart just so I can walk 5 foot and take 10 minutes to pack my own stuff. Personal preference, but it should be given as an option imo.
Windows has had this for literally decades, too. You have to use a 3rd party software, but it exists and is easy to use.
Heh, yea, I get that. I call it the mother in law test. My wife and I are fairly techy, but my MIL refuses to pay a cable bill and isn’t satisfied with the shows available on the antenna. I’ve got an entire Emby setup for her to use, and have mostly trained her how to use Overseerr to request shows/movies for her to watch, too. It was a bit of a pain getting here, but it works well now.
What does she usually watch? I got my MIL on Frndly TV, which doesn’t carry ANY sports channels, so the costs are fairly low. All sorts of Hallmark, Lifetime, Game Show channels. Pretty sweet, honestly. https://try.frndlytv.com/
Regardless, good luck finding something.
It’s not self hosted, but I spent some time curating the news feed on Bing. It works well enough that I felt comfortable switching from Google Feed, and I don’t have to worry about self-hosting random news feeds.
