Neat, i only knew Collabora from their libreOffice/nextCloud integration, but it seems they do much more than that

One should hope
No it is not, the “This is them now” meme template has been around for a while and is not about race, and generally the more different/dramatic the faux before and faux after pictures are the more humorous it is intended to be

I notice and appreciate NBC’s using of “Gulf of Mexico” rather than its freedom fries version

Wild stuff, thanks

I think ive missed a reference, how does that link contribute to ddosing?
Its a true language, you dont hand an illiterate kid shakespear and tell them to have at it, you start them with basic books, even guided readings, and have them read out loud, and then they advance through more complicated books until they get the hang of things and start making their own essays, they continue the process of moving from simpler to more complex books/code-projects until one day the developer becomes minted when they have an idea of their own and they realize they have the vocabulary and strong enough opinions already formed to just make the idea their own - and then the learning is self sustaining.
Dont put the cart before the horse, shovel the shit for a while until you figure out where it lands - theres no workaround to gaining experience - just got to experience it
i havent really thought much about the massive cultural and societal coordination and effort required to clean up a bombed out town
Ramma Damma feels like the tip of an iceburg - do you have any references (ideally translated to english, but ill try to make due if in their native language) of how a town/region dealt with the destruction and infrastructure reset?
Like theres the vivid memory of first hand death and destruction to process, and likely the absence of many able bodied people whod traditionally lead the cleanup but were lost in the war itself, but then theres a collosal amount of work ahead to return to s steady state, and all the idealic potential of how to improve things once theres a blank slate, and the realities of how to reuse/recover resources like stones and pipes and such
It seems such an intense era just thinking shallowly about it, and id like to understand more what that it was like, the problems that arose and how they resolved, and how it got organized
Is this like a higher abstraction level version of looking at a mirror pointed at another mirror type situation?, or help me visualize your idea better
On further thought, it sounds like a hologram theory to me, am i right?

Truly, thanks for being one of the people keeping lemmy alive - im a bit of a lurker, mostly upvoting and curating - occasionally commenting and adding in my own way - but i probably wouldnt still be here if it wasnt for all your memes bringing some levity to all the serious news and discussion
Thank you Picard Maneuver!

Yeah the downvotes on yours make no sense to me, i was just adding to your point not even countering it, but the ratio is silly

Got curious, nyc has a population of 8.5m and a city budget of 116b$
If nyc was a state seperate from ny, then it would be the 12th largest state by population - just over washington state, and itd be the 5th highest budget in the nation - just under washington state
It feels way more rational after making that comparison - especially when coupled with how culturally and economically center stage nyc is to america and the world
I am forced to use claude daily at work, it smells like claude

I was having this exact conversation with one of the archetects in my company - top down orders were to start integrating llm’s into our engineering workflows - so be it, they sign my paychecks and selfishly i want those to keep flowing - but beyond the quality and slop concerns i had already raised and were disregarded, i was realizing that i was losing my intuition about the code i was releasing under my name - it takes me longer to answer questions and i cant just wing my answers based on the intuition built during development because i didnt build intuition during development when development was outsourced to the llm - thats a liability im trying to highlight to managment and their risk analysis and also to myself for risk reduction
Intuition isnt made in documentation (nor the slopdocs llms makes that no sane person will ever actually read) - its built by the effort of comprehension and theyll be no shortcut to that

If so, quite scary forshadowing that theyd target this guy over Hitler/etc

I love meshcore, have a repeater and im building out my local mesh - such a shame about andy overstepping and slopping such an important thing - thanks for this psa
Genuinely decentralized and resilient communication is fundamental to individuality and resistence against authority - for andy to try and assert himself and coopt larger authorities into this is frankly disgusting and i appreciate the explicit splitting off from him - hes acting dangerously wether he knows it or not.

“You are now cultured”

Does he try to look like the devil, or does that apperance just like, manifest itself after doing enough evil?

The luckiest people see their pets and parents and loved ones turn elderly. Its an honor and privaledge, all other alternatives are tragic
