I cut my tofu into tiny cubes and air fry them. I’ll add them into things like udon or stir fry, which has its own seasoning; haven’t tried seasoning the tofu directly. But considering you’re non-vegan, you could go with chicken bullion and you’d get most of the way there. Otherwise, a healthy amount of garlic and onion powder will do you well, maybe some beer can chicken spice.
I get Beyond Burgers often, and they at least have some texture on the inside. Not exactly like hamburger, but it looks appetizing. The above image is just white paste on the inside. They could certainly do better.

Ashley voices a ton of characters for both video games and shows. Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Huntress Princess from Fiona and Cake, Parvotti is Outer Worlds, Mel in The Last of Us II, and Chloe in Life is Strange.

World News@lemmy.world•I am a 15-year-old girl. Let me show you the vile misogyny that confronts me on social media every day | AnonymousEnglish
14·11 days agoI’ve been a social media moderator and it’s an awful, thankless, volunteer job. And I think objectively we kept our community very tightly focused on our narrow topic and civil. But we’d have never gotten to that point without a ton of help from the community itself. We outlined our vision and had clear, reasonable guidelines, so it was very easy to determine if something was against the rules to report.
But this was a special interest subreddit, and it was a constant battle. I made sure that every ruling and interaction I made had thoughtful intent. I had to step down because it was making me legitimately depressed.
I could never fault a moderator for being overwhelmed, especially for a community as chaotic as instagram. For these large, general purpose communities, it’s impossible to police directly. It truly takes the whole community to enforce and report bad behavior.
So no, you shouldn’t blame the victims, but you have to understand it’s a massive systemic problem with no easy solution. The best advice you can give really is “Take care of yourself, and avoid problematic communities.”

Games@lemmy.world•The Wheel That Went to Court (or, did you know Pixar sued DMA Design - who ended up becoming Rockstar North - because they made a game about a unicycle?English
2·22 days agoNot just the controls, but the entire game design is utterly unique. It’s a breakneck 2d racing game where you can only see about 1/4 second ahead of you (or less). You navigate jumps and turns by reading the color of the track. It becomes surprisingly intuitive. It’s such a fun game that I wish could be on NSO to see some wider popularity.

153·24 days agoIt sucks that this technology is being used this way. It could be incredible for things like D&D where you can swap your likeness/voice for that of your character.
Some games actually had you holding the middle and left sticks (Wetrix I think?).
Also the D-pad or L button were used to taunt in Smash Bros.
It’s honestly baffling people still riff on this. Anyone that’s held the controller for 2 seconds understands it.
A few months ago my wife and I were on vacation in Peru and we got kicked off our flight through no fault of our own, along with 5 other strangers. We spent hours in the airport working out logistics of getting home, getting reimbursed, getting hotels/meals, etc. At one point, they suggested to one of the women to take an uber to the hotel (this was around 3 am) and she said “I’m not going out into the city without anyone I know, you’re going to send me with someone I can trust.” We had only met hours ago, but our shared predicament gave us unity.
A D&D party trauma bonding over some initial catastrophe is honestly realistic. So, if you meet up for a job and it goes badly enough, you’re essentially family!

It got by on the fact that it’s cross-compatible with all the older content (same as 3 and 3.5), so putting out the PHB was enough to play the game. But they really did dance around that for a long time, insisting that it was not a separate version, when clearly there were lots of balance changes to classes and spells.
