Not really religious, but my first thought was, “i hope my mom gets to meet her on the other side.”

Is that the October surprise?
Some days it feels like i just talk few words and move side to side.
It said 6 weeks, but mine arrived in 12 days!
ETA- they only take a certain number per day and that number resets at noon Eastern time (I think it’s noon, but it might be 11:00 or 1:00. I can’t remember.) so if you check right after that you’ll likely get in.
At least once a day i scroll up to see if I’m reading an onion post.
I think it might be kind of nice to be Tom Hanks and have the name WilsonsOnlyFriend@lemmy.world and just chat and chill.
And calling him President!
Who do so many people say fentan-all instead of fentan-ill?
Congrats on being adopted! We’ve done new kitty in a room for a couple of days, then old kitty in the room for a couple of days while new kitty learns the house. Then, when they start pawing under the door at each other we open it. We did not do this with the last kitty and now we have cat fights several nights per week.
Yeah. I don’t really know why i shared all of that. Just struggling to make sense of something senseless, i guess. i visit several schools per day and we all whine about the inconvenience of badge fobs, locked classrooms, being required to put the alert app on our phones and then having it constantly going off all day with every drill at every school, etc. Then when something like this happens i feel shitty for whining, heartbroken for those families, and thankful that it wasn’t my schools, teachers, kids, … It sucks. And the worst part is that we know it will happen again and again. Rambling…sorry.
I grew up in a rural area with just my mom. We had two handguns and a shotgun hidden in the house. Anytime we went walking in the pasture a gun came with us in case of snakes or wild dogs and a couple of times per year i was required to shoot at cans with each one. I wasn’t interested in them and didn’t like shooting them, but understood her desire for me to feel comfortable using them ‘just in case’. We often took long road trips to visit family and would stop to nap in rest areas for a few hours. The small handgun was always beside the driver’s seat. It was the 70s and early 80s and nothing was locked. 22 in the nightstand drawer, 38 in a dresser drawer, and shotgun behind her bedroom door - all loaded and ready. It didn’t seem weird; it was just what my mom did to try to keep us safe.
I don’t work in tech and I’m not a video game player. Am i a normie? I stay on Facebook because of the things you mentioned - i want to know how my old aunt is doing, get the link to my cousin’s music performances, see what play or concert is showing this weekend, and post to my neighborhood when my dogs escape. I only used Twitter to follow local bars, restaurants, and music venues for happy hours and event info. That kinda died with covid so i closed my Twitter account. I don’t really understand influencers. I’d love to see more local content here but I’m not sure we have the people to support it. I guess the way to start is to share the local info i get from Facebook to the Texas and dfw communities here, but that doesn’t draw more people. Among my friends, r/ is sort of made fun of as something their husbands follow for jokes, memes, and boobs.
During covid, i made a Google voice number so i didn’t have to give my real number when we were working from home. It was fine for that.
What’s her name?
Congrats on being adopted!
I wish my family was that easy to change, and there are only five of us.
Crunchies are always available. About 10 pm, just before i go to bed, i let the dogs out to potty and the cats come running. 1 can or pouch split among the 3 (half to the old girl who’s missing teeth) mixed with a little hot water.
Vaster?
