Yeah, I was disappointed in the tonal shift. I could’ve watched Deku and friends learn superheroing for 10 more seasons, slowly getting closer to real pros, and been happy. It feels like it’s a sudden mad dash to the finale now.
You’re worried that if we collect money from the wealthy through taxation, it might not be used to reduce homelessness. However, if we don’t tax the wealthy, they’ll spend the money on their own goals, which definitely won’t be to reduce homelessness. While you’re right that taxes are largely wasted, they do still fund important things such as fire departments, medical research, and yes, government housing. It’s true that we need to implement better tax management systems, but we also need a wealth tax.
Corruption already makes most millionaires’ and billionaires’ money go to that anyway. At least if it’s taxed some of it will actually go to toward necessary housing, maybe even frequently enough that it’s not newsworthy when it does, the way it is now.
Unfortunately, in the twitter comments that someone linked, you can see that he still staunchly believes that Trump was the best pick, and that a vote for democrats is a vote to “trans the kids.”
Republicans have been primed to treat their own suffering as a trial they need to overcome, and that was done specifically so they wouldn’t vote in everyone’s best interests even if it’s clearly also in their own best interests.
But if we point out that it’s happening, we’ll be called alarmists! No, it’s better to just keep saying things are going to happen, so people feel like they still have time to do nothing about it.

Careful, or they’ll go after the dictionary next.
The joke is that it’s not yucky because while yes, it shows that you shit, everybody shits, so it shouldn’t be surprising or even noteworthy. They’re using it to tie into their actual point that parents talking about sex isn’t yucky because sexuality is natural, and discussing it shouldn’t be surprising or even noteworthy. Even in the case of asexuality, it’s still a discussion that should be had.

Well, if you ever get the opportunity to punch Trump in the nose, I hope you take it and more.

Well, it matters for us if there’s enough people to punish everyone. It’s like speeding - there aren’t enough traffic cops to catch every speeder, so while my mom would’ve gotten plenty of tickets if there were, in reality she rarely ever got one. If we organize, we can overwhelm the criminal justice system. It’s not a fun prospect, and I’d really hoped we could pull ourselves out of this situation by other means, but our current president is actively advertising his plans to become a dictator - working within the system is no longer an option.

My mom used to always speed like crazy, and when people would complain, pointing to the speed limit signs, she’d always respond with something along the lines of “signs can’t limit speed, let me know if you see a cop instead.” Some people just don’t give a shit about the forms of soft power meant to keep people in line without taking real action against them. My mom was one, and our current president is another. The funny thing is that we’re going to have to ignore them as well to stop him.

Oh boy! Soon there’ll be a new court ruling for Trump to ignore without consequence!

And I’m sure at Easter dinner my whole family will still be saying “Thank god Trump’s second term will be over in 4 years and things will go back to normal!” as if anyone in the government will actually be willing and able to prevent him from simply continuing on with his dictatorship. This cinches it for me - I’m convinced that we’re not getting out of this without American Revolution 2.0.

They’re in a country full of angry people with guns who have been trained over generations to think that there’s no need to use them - that protests will be enough because the only next logical step after that would be violence, and nobody wants that. But really, I don’t have a lot of faith that most will actually use them - I know in my heart of hearts that I won’t. I think we’ve been trained to have such faith in our loud bark that we’re left completely unable to bite. There are a few individuals who have worked up the courage to take real action, but we’d need a lot more than that to scare the wealthy into playing fair. I hope I’m wrong, but every time I think about taking that next logical step as a result of all the inconsequential protests, I fail to even come close to having the courage to do so, and I don’t think I the only one.

I was planning to get a Switch 2 just to keep it at 1.0 and wait for a scene to develop, but even the console alone is a bit out of my price range.

It’s true that we evolved in response to an environment, but the actual genetic changes that allowed for that were not developed with purpose. They happened randomly, and the ones that happened to provide a benefit made those individuals more likely to have more kids that those with less beneficial random changes.
I think some of those purple ones should instead be labeled “If you can find a way to get it to stick around long enough for you to lick, you’ll win a posthumous Nobel prize.”
Zero responsibility, no; many did vote for him , but significantly more didn’t. If you want to hunt down the people who voted for him, sure, but I voted against him in every election knowing something like this would happen, and I’m not responsible for it. The same can be said of a significant amount of Americans. To lump us all together would be like bombing a hospital full of innocent victims to get at some members of Hamas.

Glad I could jog your memory! Yeah, I even went so far as to email the current owner of the rights to it about a sequel a few years ago, and basically got the generic “Maybe one day” response.
You can’t teach if you don’t identify where the students are getting things wrong and correct them. It’s one of the major reasons why teachers deserve so much more pay. My wife used to be a teacher, and she worked 2-3 hours past the end of school correcting students’ work pretty much every weekday, and spent several hours every weekend planning out her lessons for the following week. She got paid significantly less than me working in a basic entry-level 9-5 office position.
