Nahhhhh, that bitch would have you as a milk maid and/or breeding sow before he’d make your life anything worth enjoying.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•AI slop repository with 8k stars on Github that doesn't even compileEnglish
1·13 hours agoIt doesn’t comprehend anything. That’s the damn point.
Though it WILL “understand” what you did by the algorithms that break down code turning the variable into another token. So all you’re really doing is costing yourself more time and money in the slop machine.
No, that’s schwifty five. XQc is just a clown.
Not that I’ve noticed. It’s a 1060 vs an old Intel integrated, so I’d hope I’d immediately notice a game running like sludge, although I’ve been staying away from truly demanding ones on it.
Only thing that’s annoying is the USB4 dock crashes the laptop if I unplug it, but my limited research on that is pointing at a Wayland bug, something about a display’s frame buffer disappearing.
Stockholm would require the situation to be bad in some way. It is not.
Use a distro that has automated install of the drivers. MX Linux was just running a provided program (that ran in a terminal but eh) and rebooting, and off I went gaming. I think some of the other gaming-specific distros can also install them for you.

4·3 days agoGotta have a tier 0 for the ace/pan/demi/etc out there. Though agreed people generally assume tier 1. … Although pansexual is probably tier 1, too, otherwise that seems more demi.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Manjaro let their SSL certificate expire againEnglish
542·4 days agoNot just with their web hosting. I’ve had so many updates break random crap it’s not even funny. Recently, a random update I did not approve suddenly had kwallet not working. A core piece of a DE they provide a bundled version for. I had to start kwalletd myself every time I wanted to use it.
It didn’t start that way on the fresh install. I didn’t do anything myself except reboot. Then suddenly my scripts that nab from the keystore are failing and asking me for passwords and what a mess.
That’s just a more recent example. I remember having quite a few random issues on update in the past, though the only other one I explicitly remember is the DE suddenly failing to start. Like, at all. Luckily I had a recent timeshift backup saved elsewhere, restored, and ignored the update notifications for a long while…
There is room for two in that ‘we’.

Linux@lemmy.ml•So, I'm a noob and I prefer... Debian?English
5·4 days agoIf you want Debian plus some nice tools, I’d recommend MX Linux. It’s based on Debian stable and mosrly just has a few convenient extras. Like installing nvidia drivers with one click, or being able to create a bootable ISO of your exact system. It has a few other neat tools, too.
Wouldn’t be surprised if you could just nab those tools ad hoc as desired for normal Debian, though.
Oh you sweet summer child…

2·6 days agoFully agreed with that.
In fact, such regulations really need to go a lot further and make illegal straight up unnecessary subscriptions, too. If something doesn’t need actively maintained things outside of the actual product for it to function, then it doesn’t ‘need’ a subscription model.

2·6 days agoThey’re not just finally saying it out loud, though. The whole extra step of outright saying, “I’m gay” in response to being attracted to the same sex as your trans identity, especially when stated flippantly, is heavily implying that they’ve already thought it through.
They’re not going, “hmm food for thought”. They’re just going, “yep, gay”.

2·6 days agoGiven all the fun I’ve had over the years with far less powerful systems, it’s not exactly a deathknell to gaming if it turns out that way.
It just better be the deathknell for terrible mobile game microtransaction structures and p2w schemes if mobile devices become the new norm…
Nahh, this seems exactly like something that would happen from advanced text predictors, which is exactly what ALL of these LLM “AI” are. The instructions are in English, no doubt. Of course there is a strong association with English words despite, “in Mexican” surely being somewhere in the “instructions”.
This is just more ELIZA effect in action… Fucking braindead execs/etc failing to understand that it is literally just advanced text prediction that’s fed through a TTS “AI” driven system, that’s surely given just as tenuouse of a connection to Spanish as the text predictor…
(I know your comment seems aware of that fact given the AGI slamming, I just had to vent in a way that describes why it’s such bullshit)
