I am a trans woman and a computer nerd :3

I don’t think she is referring to what the pictures are of, but rather that the ambiance of the pictures invoke horror. Like the harsh lighting and camera angles make it seem like it could be from a horror game or movie. While they are just pictures of a house, they still feel strange.

I think a big reason why work feels bad is because in many jobs the surplus value of your labor is being stolen by the executives. When you put in effort to personal projects that feels good because you are actually getting to reap the rewards of your labor.
People like doing stuff that’s useful, not just for ourselves but for others as well. What we don’t like is being exploited.

That’s is really cool. There were a lot of Windows fanboys at my college unfortunately.

I used a Windows VM when I was in college. Even if you are pursuing a computer science degree, yes, some professors assume/expect that everyone will be using Windows. Using a VM also has the added benefit of you being easily able to get rid of all the programs they made you install as well once the semester is over.

Some images of Jesus show him with a cut on his chest. Clearly that is the scar from his top surgery.
I love how she’s just putting them in her kitchen fridge. Imagine having to spend your winter sleeping with a jar of mayo…
Yeah sorry I actually lied earlier. I am really a 40 year old neckbeard living in my mom’s basement. /s
I was 13 in 2016. Believe it or not, many different people are on the internet.
I am not proud of it, but I used to be like that when I was around 11 to 13. Seeing right wingers bully the pokémon go kid turned me away from them and now I’m a socialist.
I did loathe myself so much back then. I know now I was experiencing gender dysphoria but I didn’t know what it was then so it just made me confused and angry. I learned about the existence of transgender people from transphobes which just made me hate myself more.
So yes this a definitely a thing. I am not sure how you would discover this about someone while they are still in the self loathing stage, but I know of people in the self acceptance stage (myself included) who have talked about how they were like that in the past.

Imo when making a game, you should make something that satisfies you. Chances are if you like something then there are other people who like it too. And if it turns out the game isn’t as successful as you hoped, then at the very least, you have something that you enjoyed making.

This reminds me of when I was in middle school and did a Scratch game dev class. I decided to use multiplication instead of simple addition and subtraction to make my character jump because the latter looks horrible and janky. My teacher accused me of cheating the moment I pressed the space button. Even after I explained how it worked to her she still didn’t believe me. I still got a good grade but after that she started watching me like a hawk; I assume she thought she would catch me cheating but never did since I was never cheating.
Extremely good boys :3
Thanks for the suggestion! I know he didn’t coin the term but he did write an article on his website trying to get people to use it. He definitely did grab it from the past but either didn’t realize or didn’t care that it has fallen out of usage.
I wasn’t alive in the 90s and I wasn’t aware of trans stuff until I started exploring my gender in 2019 so as a result I am kinda ignorant of the way things were in the 00s and earlier. I really don’t see things like trans* and trans+ being used today, similarly to how you don’t really see people using antiquated terms for transgender either.
Today what I see instead is trans and GNC (gender nonconforming) which serves the same purpose of being a broad umbrella term but is more accurate.
As a computer nerd myself, the wildcard aspect makes me feel like trans* includes things like transportation and transghwujdjrudndndjjd which I don’t like.
Anyways, its not up to cishet person to decide what term should be used to refer to transgender and gnc people. I have a unfinished project, which is a website compiling a bunch of info and resources for trans and gnc people. I came across the genderbread at some point but I decided to research the creator before adding it to the site and that is how I discovered the above info about him.
itspronouncedmetrosexual (aka Sam Killerman) is a cishet white man who’s made a career out of speaking over marginalized voices.
He did not create the genderbread person but he chose to slap his name on it anyways.
He also tried to popularize the term trans* despite not being trans himself nor having the approval of actual trans people. (Trans* is a useless term since trans already includes all trans people. Trans* causes people to falsely think that trans is an uninclusive term)
Here’s a tumblr post for the plagiarism claim You can also find stuff by just searching for “sam killerman controversy” or similar. The other stuff you can find on his own website.
Edit: It seems like my Lemmy client is confusing Tumblr links for Lemmy instance links so I’ll just post it again below just in case.

I have an i5 10600k and a 3060 and I haven’t noticed any sort of cpu bottlenecking. Mostly I just play indie games, but I can play the oblivion remaster with most settings on high with a few on ultra as well.
Alternatively you can also right click, press Inspect, and then edit the HTML, which will look perfect and also not actually change anything.
