Firefox and it’s forks are the best browsers. They are still not very good. There are a ton of bad decisions and poor code. From old legacy stuff like how user profiles are stored to closed source shit like pocket.
The mozilla foundation has been on a downhill slide since google hired the skilled programmers to make chrome. Bad leadership, poor spending, and stupid priorities.
So yes firefox is the best browser. But that’s kind of like being the best cable company. Not exactly a great thing.
Tesla is not private. He borrowed a huge amount against his Tesla shares to buy twitter. That’s one of the reasons he wanted that giant bonus. He needs the money to keep paying off the loans.
He is always furious. But this is what he wanted. The gerrymandered districts he forced through pushed a bunch of swing districts into comfortably R at the expense of some extremely D districts.
So yeah it’s great to see increased glbt representation (there is another gay senator) and latino representation but it’s not because we are becoming more tolerant. It’s because republicans have solidified control of the state legislature.
I like Smith and am glad he won. But it’s unfortunately the byproduct of losing one or two other democrat seats in the legislature. That’s not Smith’s fault it’s the republicans fault.
It’s an interesting question as far as dead naming as well. Normally it’s just a dick move or an accident because of old habits. But in the case of people who did important work that might be published under an old name it can be useful to get them the credit.
I’m a computer engineer so I looked up her work to see if I was familiar with it. I was wondering if I would need to lookup her dead name to find her important work. In her case her big book (which I recognized immediately and have on my shelf) was published after her transition so it wasn’t necessary.
If it had been written pre transition it would have been a shame to not know she was the author.
I know there is variance among the community. Of my three trans friends 2 prefere being referred to by their post transition gender in the past tense and once preferes they/them.
A coworker who came out requested he/him until after they took time off for treatment and then she/her afterwards.
When asked if he wanted his name updated on an award plaque while away he said no. So when she returned we had only updated her door name plate and info in the company directory.
The thing is countries can change. Russia was ill equipped to fight a war against a prepared equipped country. Supplies were missing because people sold off supplies they thought were never gong to be needed. Now they know they need that equipment and the countries economy is on a war footing.
Look at how much a difference being prepared made for Ukraine the recent invasion compared to the earlier invasion of Crimea.
Being rich does get you a lot of protection in america.
On a level 2 charger.
That’s av level 2 charger.
Yeah i’ve considered putting in a level 2 charger but my level 1 does the job so i haven’t bothered.
They slow shown when the vehicle gets close to max charge about 95%. But i’ve yet to see one where it has a setting you can change.
Not really. Level 1 chargers are basically trickle chargers that run off a 120v outlet. Level 2 are 4 times the power running off 240v. Then you have the big fast chargers like the tesla super charger or chadmo.
Right you can use a custom script as a service to make it do what it’s supposed to do. but for an app that’s for an advertised feature of a paid service it’s a complete shit show.
240v is available in most homes but three phase is very rare for residential areas unless they are right next to an industrial zone.
Also a standard 4K heater runs about 3 hours a day and is usually the biggest power draw in a house depending on ac. That is about twice the draw of a class 1 home charger but the charger is probably being used for at least 6 hours for a daily driver. So it’s realistic to almost double a houses daily use with an EV.
EVs are great but we do need to upgrade the infrastructure to handle them. It’s still a lot less infrastructure then we use to distribute gasoline.
So I have an EV and solar. This gives me a very clear picture of my power usage. The EV adds a lot to my base power usage. And this is with a class 1 charger. A commercial class 2 charger is 4 times the power usage.
Orange is my power usage. Here is a day whew I came home at noon charged and then went out in the evening charging when I returned home. You can see how much it adds to the base draw. The spikes are my ac.
I went to get blood lab work done today. When I went to pay the kiosk asked for a tip.
I do use wireguard. Mostly because the proton app for linux is so bad.
Look into how they have you setup port forwarding on linux using the official app. They want you to open a terminal and keep a looped script running as long as you are using it.
Not only that but when I was testing it the script would start erroring out after about 5 min requiring a restart.
Not only is it hard to get certified for things like rockets but they usually use a realtime os like red hawk (a red hat fork).
