  • The problem with protesting in modern times since social media dominated the majority of our lives is how most show up on a weekend, take photos and a hashtag, then brunch.

It’s all performative because if people were really serious, then there would constant protesting like how it was done during the Civil Rights era. The closest to a continuous protest we had was Occupy Wallstreet, yet so many fell for the media’s propaganda of it being a bunch of jobless hippies. Same rhetoric that could had described the Civil Rights protestors.

Don’t blame leadership when it is truly the people who are goddamn selfish and stupid. The final culmination of what Republicans and the owner class wanted out of a populace.

  • Democrats are controlled opposition, which the belief is solidified by the recent senate vote. I’ll still vote blue, but if the politician option of it being a coward/establishment then I might as well vote for a rat. Absolute disgusted our elected leaders have no spine as Republicans continue on their quest to achieve fascism and white supremacy.

Fuck those 6 and fuck Schumer.

  • You can buy a Tuff Shed for $20k with foundation installment, insulate it yourself, all for less than $27k. Toss in electrical, and water; you’re looking at around $40k. Permits and such will probably add another $10-$15k. Overall, you’re looking at $80k for a tiny home in a major city versus homes that go for more than $600k. Rurally in my county, I’ve seen homes go for $300k, so you’re still saving a fuckton of money.

Tiny living absolutely goes against capitalism and our need to consume more than what we can handle to be further in debt by those who control the means.

  • It’s not just tiny homes are getting up their in price; they are extremely affordable. The issue is you’ll need to place it on a foundation and once you do, you’ll be beholden to the same permits as a regular sized house which can add a tremendous expense. Sure, you can go the trailer/on wheels route, but that opens up to other issues such as home theft (literally) to cities outright not allowing it on your lot.

Also take into consideration that a lot of municipalities do not like tiny homes as it goes against the look of the town/city, to some even outright banning them to having exorbitant fees placed on them.

I’ve looked into tiny homes and to save money, I would have to move out to the rural areas where I am permitted to build them without being hassles by the city. Oh, and if your neighbor doesn’t like your home, you can definitely expect frequent visits from the city inspectors to fuck your day over.

All I want is a tiny home, and a big front/backyard to garden/self-sustain my family.

  • You can ride any vehicle you want, but will also be opened up to criticism in your decision. No need to drive a massive dodge ram thats 5’ lifted. There was a study that shows those type of trucks cannot see pedestrians in front of them, posing a risk to school children and distracted drivers.

The real issue is Big Auto circumventing laws to make these massive vehicles to avoid paying additional taxes on fuel efficient cars.

At my kids school, there’s quite a few lifted vehicles with pristine paint jobs, letting others know that they never take their car out on trails let alone use it for what it’s made for. Pathetic pavement princesses.

  • Some LCS’s (local card shops) are more Magic focused, some are more Pokémon focused, as well as Yugioh focused. They’ll still sell other product, but most likely have a core group of players who show up to play one type of game.

The LCS I used to go to sold everything, but it was largely known to be the spot to play MTG/have tournaments consistently versus their Pokémon days.
