  • Lol nice. I don’t know if people often call the phone number on the back or side of the van and complain for every little inconvenience to try to get the driver in trouble, but they do here. Companies do appreciate calls if the driver did something dangerous rude or aggressive, but some people abuse it.

So I myself try to drive respectfully and be polite to other drivers, and wouldn’t flash my lights at anyone who’s already at a high enough rate of speed

  • As a driver of a big white service van with ladders on top, cars always assume I’m slow and there’s nothing in front of me while I’m going the same 120km/hr in a 100km/hr speed limit just like everyone else, but gasp following the vehicle in front of me at a safe 3 second distance.

They LOOOOOVE getting around me just to fill up my safe distance cushion and stay right there just to be one vehicle ahead. If anything THAT is what slows me down, trying to put 3 seconds back inf front of myself again.

  • It’s not all just poopoo peepee stuff. A lot of plumbers do mechanical work in commercial buildings, boiler retrofits, repiping, construction. I’m in commercial HVAC and work with a bunch of plumbers whose skills and scope of work have great overlap with mine. I’ve also helped them out doing boiler retros/repipes. We offer similar services, subcontracting each other to our own customers, just they do more of the gas fired work and fix leaks in heating loops and I do the AC/Refrigeration stuff

  • I once wondered why the fuck an oven should need WiFi.

Then last week I was stuck in a traffic jam coming home from work, and took 2 hrs to do what should’ve been a 1 hr drive. (45km distance)

Then I had to make dinner, and I had such little time to have dinner, clean up from dinner, shower, walk the dog, and settle down for bed for work in the morning, I was angrily wishing I could preheat the oven while I was on my way home from work. That’s when I realized the reason for a WiFi oven.

Also, being able to say “hey Google lights out” when I’m tired as fuck about to go to bed and the light switch is on the other side of the room opposite direction from the bedroom, is nice too.

Actually, as someone who has little free time when not stuck at work or in traffic, I’m probably more likely than the average person to appreciate things having wifi.

Doorknobs though, I’ll draw the line there so we can both at least agree on something together

  • Depending where it is, a figure of speech up to a certain point of where they actual enforce it, most cops don’t even go the speed limit on some roads and highways.

They’re low and out dated as fuck, and mostly just a money grab, again, depending on the street and the limit, for example excluding in front of schools and parks

  • Vehicles don’t even use lanes properly in Cities Skylines. They all line up single file in one lane backed up all the way down the highway all the way to the edge of the map because they all want to take one of the multiple available exits. The only time they ever switch lanes is if the other lane turns left, and they switch at the last second right before the turn
