You can think of it like performers. An actress is still an actress outside of her performances, but she won’t be the character she portrays. I guess my experience is that many apartments don’t have carpet through much more than bedrooms now. Heck, one I looked at yesterday has zero carpeting, and this is a place with very cold winters.

My young male cat has a large 6x6 kennel that he goes into while I’m out, and he doesn’t even pee on anything, but I guess most people wouldn’t be willing to do that. (he just constantly tries it on with that elderly cat I mentioned above and that’s not good for anyone lol)
