I listened to a primer about this board on the local news last night; apparently quite a few countries rejected it outright, and most of those that didn’t basically have it lying on their desks like a paper turd, not knowing what to do with it. AFAICS the majority says “not in its present form”, which is basically a separate UN with a god king.

It’s not often you agree with a multi-billion corpo’s CEO. And Deutsche Bank CEO said something very similar just the other day. Let’s hope our leaders finally listen, since they certainly aren’t listening to our protests.

Less than two hours after I wrote my previous comment I heard it on the news: they really did come to some agreement between NATO/USA/Greenland, and the words “sovereign territory” were said. Unclear where though, and how much.

Ironing out usually means post-installation hands on
Do snails climb up metal posts like this? I think kids are behind this, and I approve. I have seen them collecting snails by the dozen and carrying them around in their little grubby hands.

No they didn’t. As the article you linked states, it’s a proposal of a “framework of a deal with NATO” - very much in the future and very much a maybe and very much the US admin’s idea.
And it concerns the military bases the US already has on Greenland, saying “parts of Greenland” is a little misleading imho.
It’s his typical artlessness of the deal: demand it all, then make concessions to make it look like giving into only one thing is a “good deal” for the other side.
By saying it’s basically a done deal you are playing into Trump’s hands.
But I will concede this point: it’s possible NATO will give in to some of his demands. Though I really hope they won’t.

It really depends on how you lived your life. Memory starts playing tricks on you, sure, but that doesn’t mean you have to become a demanding toddler who doesn’t even know what exactly he demands.

Even if this was a dumbass mistake, the regime will spin this to needing Iceland too.
This was my cynical mind’s first thought. If Greenland/EU/Denmark/NATO give even an inch into his demands, Iceland is next. Americans have bases there, too.

Apparently my in-laws.
Wild guess: they’re not in the habit of watching video or reading transcript of his speeches, more than a few seconds (esp. not from Davos)?
That’s what always gets me about people who attend his rallies: listen to him rant incoherently for, idk, 45 minutes, then turn around and vote for him?

Trump doesn’t even have Nixon’s decency

Found the weasel word. Well, here’s to hoping.

Mint is fine.
I ended up formatting one of my drives I didn’t mean to.
Ouch. Did that once or twice with really important data, resulting in all-night sessions with photorec/testdisk and secondary and tertiary storage. Files restored, but just the directory structure and filenames missing can be a huge downside.

Wake from sleep is a thorn in linux’s side.
Has been working fine on my laptops for years, across Arch and Debian. Maybe because they’re both ThinkPads.

Acacia gum? I don’t believe that “widely used” and “critical” mean the same in this case. (Gum arabic is used to cover all sorts of processed foods - famously M&Ms - so that they don’t stick)
That said, I wish the Sudanese people all the best.
Did he? Wish I could believe it.
And I pray to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that European leaders won’t say “Oh, OK, so it’s all good. Sorry about the divisive rhetoric recently.”
PS: I also believe that he said something like “I won’t invade but we need to talk about how I get Greenland right now!”

Does this mean Terminal is installed but one can only use it when one is logged into the store?
Or maybe I don’t understand Windows logic; it’s been over a decade for me.

Qt does render fonts differently than GTK.

The world then did not perceive it in this context. That was still in 2022 iirc, in any case before Oct 7 2023. It was ragebait pure and simple.
Did anybody think otherwise?
