1·20 days agoTheir Roku app is actually on par with Plex’s though.
I can’t tell if that’s a complement or a dig 🤣

6·29 days agoI may be considering AI usage from a different angle. I’m less interested in the technical side than I am from the moral side.
AI companies trained their agents using open source software, did not contribute back to the code, did not credit the authors, and now want to sell it back to the same people they ripped off.
As an open source project maintainer, I’m disgusted by this.
I’m also a musician. AI companies trained agents on other people’s music without giving anything back to them. This also is disgusting.
AI trained on people’s work now lets you circumvent paying the original creators.
Add to this resource usage and environmental impact.
This is why I see AI usage as immoral. It hurts real people.

2·3 months agoYep. When I got laid off last year my goal was 10 applications a day.
Most resulted in no response. Of those who did respond, most were boilerplate rejection emails.

Helping test!!! We on the Jellyfin for Roku team have been begging peeps to help test code changes and releases before they are published for years. We get oh so little response, so it mostly ends up the two of us test each others changes on our 2 or 3 devices and if it works, it goes out.
We’re begging for testers. I’m sure other projects are as well.
