Once you get into it, it’s not that bad.
I liken it to the love child of Classic ASP and JavaScript.
🤔 …ok, maybe it is that bad.
Just a dude working on the Jellyfin Roku client while listening to punk records & watching horror movies.

Roku only offers me shuffle in shows. Is there a way I can enable it in music
Want to shuffle play your entire music library?
On the home screen, move the cursor over the music library and press PLAY on your remote. It’ll play 2000 random songs.
What to shuffle play all songs by an artist?
Go to your music library and switch to one of the Artist views. Find the artist you want and press PLAY on your remote. It’ll play their songs in random order.
What to shuffle play a single album?
Go to your music library and switch to “Albums” view. Find the album you want and press * on your remote. Choose “Shuffle Play Album”
You can also do this with any album listed on the home screen.
Or, in the upcoming 3.1.0 release, I’ve added a Shuffle Play button as part of the redesign of the album screen.

and/or is there somewhere I could donate something small to your time to add a shuffle button to roku’s music client?
If you feel so inclined, donation links are at the top of my GH profile: https://github.com/1hitsong but money isn’t why I do this.

Which client were you using? Android? Roku? etc.

I put my time and effort into the Roku client because I’m not a C# programmer.

What features do you see as missing?
The client uses Roku’s built-in language capabilities. If they set their language on the Roku device, the client will use that language.

Thank you angry video game nerd 🤓

The code I wrote that I use most often is music playback in the Jellyfin Roku client.
I use it almost every day and think it’s pretty cool 🤘

…and nothing of importance was lost.

it would be great to be able to do that from the Roku app too
Welp, good news for this one. This feature has been available since version 3.0.0.

The feature from web browser I use most that is missing from the Roku app is the option to increase playback speed.
Yeah, this one comes up pretty often. Roku provides us no method to change playback speed, unlike web browsers or other players, and because we are required to use their video playback component, our hands are tied.
The only thing we could possibly do is have the server transcode the video ad a different speed; however, the API doesn’t have this option and currently no one is working on adding it.
If you’re really a/the Roku app dev, cheers.
🍻 Yep, it’s really me. Cheers.

I’m what ways do you feel it’s stripped down?
I’m always looking for new feature requests to make it better 🤘

I work on Jellyfin. I once posted saying Plex is not a competitor because we are not in a race, so there is no such thing as “winning.”
So… many… angry… responses.

I don’t.
I played around with it twice, but both times it gave me nonfunctioning code. It seemed stupid to use it when I’d still have to go back and rewrite it anyway.

A great rock band.
I’m working on finding a job after being laid off at the start of September.
… and fixing this stupid subtitle bug in the Jellyfin for Roku app 🤘

I need to see the full section from the srt file.
Can you post the entire section here or share a txt file with it? Include the subtitle section before and after the problem section.
A mixed playlist is a playlist of mixed media. Movies, shows, audio, etc. all mixed together in a single playlist.
