For context, the game in question is Team Fortress 2 but outside of the top rule, the others could theoretically apply to any game.
I thought number 4 was already implemented in ETF2L?
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised
You always have to ban the slurs that apply to your team so the ones they can use have half effectiveness, kinda like Pokémon.
Jesus… When I still played TF2, you’d just hear people having normal conversations, making jokes, getting the entire server to sing along to a song, or light smack talking like “haha eat rockets, foo!”
The fuck happened?
Notably, this is a joke.
While it isn’t obvious from just the post itself, this message was sent in reply to someone else saying that it’s stupid for any community run organizations/events to ban people for slurs and racism and such because free speech (classic).
This post is making fun of that person.
Honestly, I’d love to see Point 2 come into a real format. The other stuff is a hard no-go, but I think it would be interesting to see a game where being outmatched doesn’t mean an automatic loss of points. I think the meta would self-stabilize into a rough version of the Elo system.
Presenting evidence of a player cheating or not cheating in any form will be considered an attempt to sway the vote and will result in a permaban from the league.
…What? In what world do you not only ban people by public vote without evidence, but actively disallow evidence being shared?
I think that’s the joke. Similarly, points are only awarded based on a prisoners dilemma and slurs are allowed but only on a pick ban basis
How did you read the first point without finding it wild?!?
It’s a joke about how VALVEe runs their franchise Team Fortress 2
You might need to take some media literacy classes
Why do you feel the need to insult someone else’s intelligence for not understanding a reference to a 20 year old videogame’s bad tourney rules? Do you find your own lacking?
Man, just let me insult as I please. I know virtually nothing about tf2 and didn’t get the “reference” but this post is clearly not meant seriously. If this is not immediately obvious to someone… why?
why?
Maybe English is a second language and the sarcasm was lost, maybe they’re autistic and don’t understand what the issue is; maybe they do need media literacy classes, is taking the chance on the first two possibilities worth the joke though? 🤷🏾♂️ I feel like there had to have been at least one time where you didn’t understand something, even though you’re so smart as to understand the topic of this post while others don’t.
