Guess how many domain controllers went down that day.

The trick is to find a solution that is lower than money lost. Say 20 employees at €35/h for 4 hours. €2800 is how much the company lost in wages. You will find bean counters are more acceptable to a €5000 server over 5 years if it prevents €2800 of lost wages per patch Wednesday.
