I only mention cellulose specifically because it is the historic precursor to the first man made plastic, celluloid. But there are now processes to convert chitin to chitosan, which is a moldable plastic.
There does exist biological plastic made of plants. That might work as an equivalent to e cigarettes

What it’s made from is irrelevant. Plastic doesn’t break down in the gut and can cause dangerous blockages.
