Build: 10600k GTX 660 / Arc A750 Dell U Series 1920x1200 (pair)

I bought the GTX 660 and monitors for Civ V in 2012. The GPU underperformed expectations. I kept it and enjoyed I enjoyed the game for 4-5 years. I’ve been using the GPU and monitors for daily work for 12 years. Baldur’s Gate 3 is the next game to get me excited. I bought an Arc A750 and am happy.

I’m happy because I think it’s my rock bottom. I’ll cough up the cash for something that will exceed expectations for awhile and meet them for a long time. It seems like best value in modern gaming is 1440p 60Hz high. But, “best value” is how I got stuck with an underperforming GPU and lacking some monitor features for a decade.

I think I should choose some modest overkill, to see what I’ve been missing out on, because undefined value likely exists. But, I’m not sure my reasoning is sound, in general or when choosing the following products:

GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Super WINDFORCE OC 12G. My reasoning for this specific 4070 sucks: It’s the most popular on Newegg that’s also not the cheapest. $600 at Amazon.

Monitor: Acer Nitro XV272U V3. It’s looks like I can’t go wrong with this, gaming or working, unless trying to use it in the dark, and at a nice price. $220 at Acer.
