Replies were bombarded with harassment and enbyphobia, trotting out the usual, “Why did you say their? Is she a group?” talking point, like a wall of Buzz Lightyear toys repeating their stock phrase. Others ask how to un-back the project, some describe the announcement as a “threat,” and then come the usual buzzwords: Erika Ishii is a “toxic activist,” a “woke idiot,” “Antifa terrorist,” and a few blatantly racist descriptors we obviously won’t repeat here. Understandably, Double Fine turned off the comments.
I doubt they ever played anything from double fine based of their reactions. Just harassing for the sake of it. I don’t get why or how people get like that. Gotta be lead poisoning or some deeper illness because I genuinely don’t understand how someone could become that antagonistic towards others who have done nothing wrong.
Also as a side note, it baffles me that people use “antifa terrorist” as a label. It is helpful in immediately outing the crazies as crazy though
