Yes, our people also fought the nazis as part of the soviet empire, but our reward for it was half a century of occupation by the red fascists.
There were also plenty of non soviets fighting against the nazis, but you make it sound quite a bit simpler than it really was, when the truth is that two empires clashed and the one that won was barely better than the one that lost.
