I have a JD. The degree you get from law school, at least here in the US.
The “D” literally stands for “doctor”… no one ever calls you doctor though.
Not that I use the degree any more. I work in IT now!
And I have a master’s degree but no one calls me “Master”.
Actually, back in the 90s we had a baby sitter that was quite old school and insisted on calling my dad “Doctor” (he has a PhD in materials science).
JDs may not get called doctor, but at least they can get called esquire which sounds way cooler. Like some kind of spy or something
