I’m in Australia. I have solar panels on my house and that covers the air conditioning for my whole home, while still leaving plenty left over to export to the grid.

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Renewable sources of energy can mean more air conditioning plus emissions reductions.

Rooftop solar and grid solar/wind needs to happen as much as possible.
